Jennifer Tomaszewski - Chair of the Board (Sherwood Park, AB)
Jennifer has been involved with LEAF for almost two decades. At the branch level, she has served as chair of LEAF Edmonton’s education committee, as its membership co-ordinator and as branch chair. Jennifer has been an active volunteer with many different social justice and political causes, including serving as president of Edmonton Women’s Shelter. Currently, Jennifer sits on the Faculty Advisory Council to the University of Alberta’s Child Study Centre. Educated at the University of Alberta, she received her BA in English, with first class honours, and also her LL.B. Jennifer practiced law in Edmonton for several years. She is an avid traveler and gardener and is fortunate to share her life with her partner, their son and a very large dog.

Cleta Brown - Vice Chair of the Board (Vancouver, BC)
Cleta has an LL.M from the London School of Economics and LL.B from the University of Victoria. She is a sole practitioner in the areas of criminal and family law. She has held positions with the BC Review Board; Ministry of the Attorney General and Office of the Ombudsman of BC. She is a former member of the West Coast LEAF Board. Cleta practices law part-time because she is also a full-time mother of two children. She is committed to the objectives of LEAF and enjoys volunteering.

Heather McGeorge - Treasurer (Toronto, ON)
Heather McGeorge is Treasurer of the Women's Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF Inc.). A role she has been in since May 2010. Heather is a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years experience in the accounting field and a lawyer. Heather previously worked as a Senior Manager in the tax department of a large multinational C.A. firm in Toronto and more recently as an Associate with a tax litigation boutique in Toronto. Her current role involves wealth management for high net worth families.

Elizabeth Adjin-Tettey (Victoria, BC)
Elizabeth Adjin-Tettey is Professor and Associate Dean at the Faculty of Law, University of Victoria. She teaches Torts; Remedies; Insurance; and Race, Ethnicity, Culture and the Law. Her research focuses on issues of marginalization in private law. Elizabeth is passionate about social justice and is committed to improving life for marginalized individuals and groups. She enjoys lecturing to a range of community groups on issues of social justice. She served as a Board Member of the Greater Victoria Police Diversity Advisory Committee from 2001 to 2006. Elizabeth has been a member of the Law Program Committee since 2008 and has served on several sub-committees. She holds an LL.B. from the University of Ghana, LL.M. degrees from Queen’s University and the University of Calgary, and a doctorate from Osgoode Hall Law School.

Leslyn Ann Lewis (Toronto, ON)
Leslyn Lewis is the founder of Lewis Law Professional Corporation, Barristers & Solicitors. She is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and earned a law degree from the prestigious Osgoode Hall Law School. She began her post-secondary education at the University of Toronto (Trinity College) where she graduated magna cum laude from the Bachelor of Arts program. After obtaining a Master's in Environmental Studies from York University and a Master's in Business Administration Concentration in Business & the Environment, she worked on numerous environmental projects with the Ontario Round Table on the Environment and Economy, Ontario Hydro and the United Nations. Leslyn is currently pursuing a Ph.D at the University of Toronto with an interdisciplinary focus on Law, Sociology and Environmental Studies. Her thesis focuses on the rights of developing nations to provide affordable essential medications, balanced against the protection of pharmaceutical patents in an international forum. For the first five years of her legal career, she worked at several large Bay Street law firms prior to forming Lewis Law firm. Leslyn serves as a member of LEAF's Fund Development Committee.

Carissima Mathen (Fredericton, NB)
Carissima Mathen is Associate Professor of Law at the University of New Brunswick. She teaches Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, and U.S. Constitutional Law. From 1994-2001, she was Counsel and, later, Director of Litigation for the Women's Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF) undertaking equality rights litigation before the Supreme Court of Canada and other courts. Her scholarly work has appeared in numerous law reviews and other publications. A Harrison McCain Foundation Young Scholar, she has visited at the University of Aberdeen and the University of Toronto; and been an invited speaker at conferences all over the world. Carissima holds a B.A. from McGill University, LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School, and LL.M. from Columbia University. She is a member of the Bar of Ontario. For the 2010-2011 academic year, Carissima will be a visiting professor at the University of Ottawa.

Robin Reinertson (Vancouver, BC)
Robin received her J.D. (law) degree and M.A. in International Relations from University of Toronto. She practiced corporate/commercial litigation with a large firm in Toronto before taking time off of to travel and move back to Vancouver, where she continues to practice litigation at a large firm. Robin has been involved with LEAF in varying capacities for many years and is currently the Chair of LEAF’s Governance Committee.

Roberta Robb (Burlington, ON)
Roberta Robb is Professor Emeritus at Brock University. Her area of expertise is the economics of women in the labour market, with a focus on policy. She is a native of Newfoundland who has travelled and taught across the country. She was Chair of the Economics Department, Director of the Centre for Women's Studies, and President of the Faculty Association at Brock University; founding member and President of the Canadian Women Economists Network, and active on the Status of Women Committees for the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations and the Canadian Association of University Teachers. Roberta is married with two grown children and lives in Burlington, Ontario.

Marilyn Roycroft (Toronto, ON)
Marilyn has 30 years of experience in public affairs, government, education, strategic planning, and social justice work. She is a former Deputy General Secretary of the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO). Before that, she handled media and government relations for the predecessor Federation of Women Teachers’ Associations of Ontario (FWTAO). From 1992-95, Marilyn was seconded to the Office of the Premier of Ontario as Director of the Public Appointments Secretariat.
Marilyn was a researcher with the New Democratic Party at Queen’s Park from 1973-78, special assistant to Stephen Lewis and Michele Landsberg, and executive assistant to NDP Leader Bob Rae from 1981-85. She was campaign manager in more than 15 provincial and federal elections and party leadership campaigns from 1973-95. Marilyn was a board member and vice-president of the Social Planning Council of Metro Toronto from 1989-92, a member of the national fundraising committee of the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF), from 1985-92, a member of the Child Poverty Action Group from 1987-92, a director of the Canadian Education Association (CEA) 2003-2008, and a board and executive member of the Lorraine Kimsa Theatre for Young People 2002-2008
Currently, she is a member of the Girls’ Fund Advisory Committee of the Canadian Women’s Foundation (CWF), and a board member and chair of Nominating and Fund Development for LEAF.

Lisa Taylor (Toronto, ON)
Prior to attending law school, Lisa was an award-winning journalist with CBC Radio and Television for more than a decade. She has an LLB from Dalhousie University, and will receive her LLM from the Schulich School of Law in October 2010. Her graduate thesis explores a potential infringement of sexual assault complainants' Charter rights. She previously practised law with the litigation firm of Merrick Jamieson Sterns Washington and Mahody in Halifax, and currently works as a journalism trainer and part-time lecturer at Ryerson University in Toronto.

Bevin Worton (Ottawa, ON)
Following in her mother's feminist footsteps, Bevin is a second generation LEAF activist. She recently completed her LLM, having previously obtained a BA and LLB. Her studies and work have allowed her to live in Vancouver, Edmonton, Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa and Cape Town, South Africa. She is currently the Chair of LEAF National's Education Program Committee and a member of LEAF Ottawa.
