The Organizational Society of Spouses of Military Members and the Department of National Defence (1986)

Download submission to the Senate Committee on National Defence:

LEAF supported the Organisational Society of Spouses of Military Members' (OSSOMM) challenge of the denial by the Department of National Defence of their democratic rights to assemble and associate. The OSSOMM established in 1984 to garner support for a dental plan. They were subsequently informed by the military base that their activities were prohibited.
The OSSOMM filed a challenge, arguing the importance of why military spouses needed an organization that could voice their interests.
