A.L. v. the Crimes Compensation Board (1992)

Download factum:

A woman was denied full compensation of assault by the Saskatchewan Crimes Compensation Board. The Board said that she had continued to contribute to her own injuries by continuing to live with her spouse.
LEAF intervened at the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal, arguing that that are many factors that make it difficult to leave their abusive partners. Unfortunately, the Board's decision was upheld.
