{"id":27505,"date":"2026-06-10T11:35:50","date_gmt":"2026-06-10T15:35:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.leaf.ca\/?post_type=news&#038;p=27505"},"modified":"2026-06-10T14:46:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-10T18:46:08","slug":"leaf-is-hiring-a-branch-resource-coordinator","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.leaf.ca\/fr\/news\/leaf-is-hiring-a-branch-resource-coordinator\/","title":{"rendered":"LEAF is hiring a Branch Resource Coordinator!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Location:&nbsp;<\/strong>Hybrid (2 days\/week in office \u2013 Toronto, ON)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Type:&nbsp;<\/strong>Full-time, Contract (24 months)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Remuneration:&nbsp;<\/strong>$73,500 plus benefits<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Apply by:&nbsp;<\/strong>July 16, 2026 at 11:59pm ET<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ROLE OVERVIEW<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Branch Resource Coordinator is a two-year, full-time position that will&nbsp;collaborate with LEAF\u2019s volunteer branches to advance&nbsp;gender equality through law.&nbsp;This role will support and collaborate with thriving branches, and resource and empower branches as they are&nbsp;establishing&nbsp;their presence in their community.&nbsp;The successful applicant will help ensure LEAF\u2019s branches are poised for success to deliver public legal education&nbsp;activities, engage in local community advocacy, build awareness of LEAF,&nbsp;and&nbsp;occasionally&nbsp;fundraise.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reporting to LEAF\u2019s Director of Operations, the successful applicant will be part of the operations team&nbsp;and work closely with the staff responsible for fund development, finances, technology, and organizational&nbsp;growth.&nbsp;The role will&nbsp;frequently&nbsp;collaborate with LEAF\u2019s public legal education team, and any staff assigned&nbsp;to law reform activities to advance this work with the branches.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">WHO WE ARE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>LEAF is a national non-profit organization which uses law to advance the equality of women, girls, trans, and non-binary people in Canada. Our office is based in&nbsp;Toronto,&nbsp;and we have volunteer branches in Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatchewan, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Sudbury, Toronto, Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo, London, Windsor, and Newfoundland and Labrador.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We intervene in legal cases throughout Canada to advance\u202fgender\u202fequality \u2013 helping to prevent violence,\u202feliminate\u202fdiscrimination in the workplace, provide better maternity\u202fand parental\u202fbenefits, ensure a right to pay equity, and allow access to reproductive freedoms. We push for progressive law reform on issues central to gender equality, including sexual violence, online hate, technology-facilitated gender-based violence, and\u202fpay equity. You bring an intersectional feminist lens to your&nbsp;work and&nbsp;thrive in an environment where you often shift&nbsp;between&nbsp;different roles,&nbsp;projects,&nbsp;and&nbsp;teams.&nbsp;You are excited by the prospect of working with a diverse group of volunteers, in locations from Edmonton to Halifax, from students to seniors, and with groups delivering 40+&nbsp;workshops in a year, or&nbsp;those who&nbsp;may&nbsp;host one or two events&nbsp;in&nbsp;a year.&nbsp;You are capable of building relationships with volunteers&nbsp;both&nbsp;online&nbsp;and&nbsp;in person.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ROLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Branch Capacity Building (50%)&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Work to address identified barriers to branch vibrancy, including through peer-to-peer learning opportunities, implementing procedure changes, the development of&nbsp;new resources, or other solutions that are&nbsp;identified&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Work to build branch volunteer capacity to deliver LEAF\u2019s public legal education program in close coordination with LEAF\u2019s public legal education team, and contribute to LEAF\u2019s overall mission and objectives&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop and deliver training materials and resources that are responsive to the needs of the branches, including facilitation of occasional skill-building workshops for branch leaders (i.e.&nbsp;social media &amp; communications management, treasurer &amp;&nbsp;financial management, etc.)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Convene branches for quarterly meetings, and branch leaders annually for LEAF network development, and capacity building&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Maintain and regularly update a toolkit of best practices, and capacity building resources for branches&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Branch Support (50%)&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Collaborate with the branches to make available materials and resources from LEAF National\u2019s projects and programs in their local community; including, but not limited to, distribution of materials and reports, or staff&nbsp;expertise&nbsp;and knowledge&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide operational support and guidance to the branch Executive Committees, including ensuring operational continuity during branch leadership transitions&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Coordinate the branch member database, including regularly notifying branches when memberships are set to expire&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>When resources permit, represent LEAF National by attending branch events (both in person and virtual) and documenting\/reporting back to staff on branch activities&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide assistance to&nbsp;branches by monitoring and responding to incoming inquiries to the branch support inbox&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Maintaining up-to-date records for each branch, including branch leadership information and ongoing projects and priorities&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">QUALIFICATIONS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Demonstrated commitment to intersectional feminism and\/or social justice, including experience within social justice movements and\/or&nbsp;organizations&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>At least a two-year college diploma in a relevant field of study or a three-year bachelor\u2019s degree in a relevant field of study&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Three to five years of work experience in a related role&nbsp;in similar&nbsp;charities, non-profits, small organizations, or&nbsp;comparable&nbsp;volunteering experience&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Several years of experience recruiting, onboarding, and supporting volunteers in community engagement and social change organizations&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fluent with capacity building and volunteer support in both&nbsp;in-person and online&nbsp;environments, including remote support for event planning, and volunteer coordination&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Robust problem-solving skills and mindset, including the ability to&nbsp;identify&nbsp;problems, research solutions, and propose a path forward&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ability to work efficiently and effectively, both independently and as part of a team, and to meet tight deadlines when needed&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Functional bilingualism is an asset&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a full-time, 24-month contract position. The Branch Resource Coordinator will receive an annual&nbsp;salary of $73,500 and additional benefits that include three weeks\u2019 vacation to start, 15 days of paid sick leave, up to two weeks of paid caregiver leave, five paid personal leave days, a week-long December winter office closure, an annual budget for continuing professional development, and immediate enrolment in LEAF\u2019s comprehensive benefits plan, which includes generous health and dental benefits.
