The Women\u2019s Legal Education and Action Fund(LEAF<\/strong>), invites you to demonstrate your commitment to equality for women and girls in Canada and attend our prestigious 28th Annual Persons Day Breakfast Gala<\/strong> on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 <\/strong>at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto from 7:00 am until 9:00 am.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Support LEAF \u2013 the only national charitable organization that exists to ensure substantive equality for women and girls under Canadian law – <\/em>and help to create positive and systemic change.\n

business, labour and academic professionals<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This year\u2019s event will feature the Honourable A. Anne McLellan<\/strong> \u2013 one of the most inspirational women in Canada. An accomplished legal academic, Officer of the Order of Canada and former Deputy Prime Minister of Canada, Anne McLellan has had a distinguished career in federal politics and made a significant contribution to advancing women in political life.<\/p>\n

Suhana Meharchand<\/a>, Host of CBC News Now and a long-time community supporter will host the event.<\/p>\n

Once again, LEAF will partner with the Ontario Justice Education Network<\/a> (OJEN<\/strong>) and host 100 female students for the breakfast and a day of workshops and seminars with legal groups and women in the legal profession.<\/p>\n

We are aware this is a time of financial upheaval and apprehension everywhere, a time when many Canadian families have real concerns about their own well-being.
