Standing together to advance gender justice in Canada remains as important as ever, with this last year being no exception. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
From fighting back against the use of the notwithstanding clause to violate the rights of trans youth in Alberta, to increasing access to justice for survivors of coercive control, and intervening in\u00a0Quebec v Luamba<\/em>, where the Supreme Court directly confronted anti-Black racism for the first time in over 40 years – LEAF has continued to build on our precedent-setting work, helping to shape some of Canada\u2019s most important equality rights decisions.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\nTogether for gender equality<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nBecause of your support, we’ve been able to move the needle forward on equality rights in Canada. This year we continued our work to bring accessible legal education to the public, grew our network of LEAF branches across the country, and strengthened our partnerships with gender-based violence organizations who are working on the front lines to support survivors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
