LEAF Toronto is an active member of Toronto’s feminist legal community. We are a dedicated collective doing our part to address structural inequities and fight for substantive equality.
Our executive committee organizes various events throughout the year, which seek to raise awareness of issues facing women, girls, trans, and non-binary people, as well events dedicated to connecting like-minded feminists at mentorship, networking, and other worthwhile events. We also lead community advocacy initiatives, and coordinate public legal education presentations across Toronto that speak on consent, reproductive justice, and individuals’ rights to be free from discrimination.
Volunteers can assist with events and community awareness subcommittees or take part in our public legal education by creating education programs or presenting them to the community.
The LEAF Toronto branch is led by:
- Sydney McIvor, Co-Chair
- Alisha Kapur, Co-Chair
- Taylor Bain, Vice Chair for Public Legal Education
- Leigh Clark, Vice Chair for Events
- Emily Thompson, Treasurer
