The Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF) has been speaking with a proud feminist voice for almost 35 years. LEAF works to advance the substantive equality rights of women and girls through litigation, law reform, and public education using the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Our victories have created real change in women’s lives—helping to prevent violence, eliminate discrimination in the workplace, allow access to reproductive freedoms, provide better maternity benefits, and ensure a right to pay equity.
It is our pleasure to invite you to join us as we celebrate the recognition of women’s legal rights and another fabulous year for LEAF at our annual Persons Day Gala. The Persons Day Gala is our largest and most important event. The funds raised directly support LEAF’s work.
We’re hosting this year’s event at the Bram and Bluma Appel Salon at the Toronto Reference Library on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, beginning at 6 pm.
